Yes, happening here in AZ too, as you said… no cap and they would not change/address it in budget talks this year and instead cut funds from many good programs. I think our governor should have fought harder. It has severely affected public education in our state. The only way to change it is for AZ to go blue in our Legislature (we are close). This is such a long and drawn out fight here. I have teacher friends who have left the profession because they are promised raises that never actually come. The profession is so incredibly disrespected by Republicans in our Legislature. They are on a mission to destroy public education. My parents, who were both educators in the Cincinnati Public School system, my father a school psychologist who worked with the SPED kids back in the day, would be rolling over in their graves. Makes me so sick. My dad really fought for those kids to have what they needed. No reason the wealthy should be getting these funds nor should our tax dollars be going to private schools (which here in AZ are/were owned by smug Republican legislators). So much misuse and abuse!
Yes. I’m afraid it cut off slightly early
It is so totally unfair that my tax dollars are subsidizing private schools for families with incomes twice what I make.

The podcast ended in the middle of a sentence.
I’m afraid it cut off slightly early. Will repost
