Thanks. It might be good to also focus on Rick Santorum's after election comments about "direct democracy is no way to govern" - paraphrasing. I think this "hints" at the MAGA mindset. That is "they don't really believe in democracy" - so the desires of the people don't matter.
I'm encouraged by your analysis, Mr. Pepper, but I'm still perplexed by the map. Why is it that, geographically speaking, 3/4 of Ohioans vote against their best interests? Why is it that all these seemingly good people don't see the train wreck heading their way? I just don't get it.
If I may, it’s because the solid color of the counties gives the impression that the populations are similar, even when they aren’t. For example, orange Wayne County had a 2020 US Census population of just over 116,000, while neighboring purple Stark had nearly 375,000. Yet the solid color tends to flatten out that difference, giving a mistaken visual impression of equal weight. Clearly Wayne’s 60% No is much less than Stark’s 60% Yes. The 40 Yes counties represent significantly more population than the 48 No counties, but the visual impression is the opposite.
No, I get that, David, and thank you for the reply. Even with the population disparities, the fact that anyone can't see the forest for the trees just baffles me! You know, when it's a few folks, or even SOME people, you can understand that there are those who will never "get it". But we're talking a couple hundred thousand people here, and that's JUST in Ohio! When people either vote against themselves, or don't vote at all during times of great peril, it just makes one look around and wonder. I just don't have enough hair left on my head for this much scratching, you know?
Ahh, got it, Daniel. Like me, you’re baffled that common sense is in short supply in a large part of the electorate, and that others who only need to do the minimum to protect their interests (vote) don’t. I’m afraid that as skilled as Mr. Pepper is as an analyst, even he will find it tough to explain!

Let’s leave the Ohioan autocrats begging for crumbs to feed their meaningless, mindless power-hungry rhetoric!
Shall we “limit” them, as to outright “ban” them, by voting them out of office, out of state to the big MAGA desert called ‘Decrepitude'?
#BlueOhio!
Congratulations for your relentless advocacy!
Has there been an analysis of GenZ turnout?
