Here's the letter I sent to the Speaker. Working on the other now.

Dear Mr. Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives,

I've just been informed of a proposed bill, The Issue 1 Implementation Act, about to be brought before the Ohio House of Representatives. I cannot state strongly enough how appalled I am that such an unlawful - un-American - bill would ever be considered. This piece of paper should never even be assigned to a committee.

I'm certain you're aware that lawsuits WILL be filed should this proposal see the light of day. The taxpayers who will be paying for this needless litigation will most certainly remember this come next election. Regardless of party affiliation!

Show the voters of Ohio you have respect for their will, Sir, and publicly stop this nonsense.

Thank you.

And of course, signed with name, address, phone, and email.

This is kind of fun!!

Hey, David. Thank you for simplifying it for me. I cannot believe how twisted this issue has become. And now it threatens to destroy democracy. Women are marching to preserve our bodily autonomy. Do the legislators in Ohio and elsewhere want a return to back alley butchery? If only men got pregnant, I’d love to see what would change overnight. Keep up the good fight you canary in the coal mine!

I am very curious as to who is coming up with this “strategy” (bill). The realist in me thinks that these elected officials are listening to and following a script.

David, can you please clarify: Is it worthwhile for people from outside of Ohio to take these steps?

The absurd and mendacious efforts to corrupt Ohio voters choices are relevant to all voters who care about the will of the people. This will not stay in Ohio. We know that other states will mirror this idiotic undemocratic behavior if given a chance. thank you David for bringing this (and your Sunday painting) to our collective attention.
