It’s amazing Sherrod Brown lasted As long as he did in the cesspool of Ohio politics and I now understand how disreputable Jim Jordan endures.

Mr. Pepper, can you help us to understand why the DOJ is not actively investigating this? As blatant as this is, I would think they would have been more involved.

I’d be amazed if California wasn’t at the absolute apex of this phenomenon. It’s amazing how a change in tribe in DC has suddenly woken people up to the fact that there’s money in politics. Duh it’s the entire game.

Having testified twice before Ohio Senate committees in an attempt to kill HB 6 (Showing FE did not need the money to keep their nuclear units open), the open nature of the corruption was amazing to see. It was clear to was baked before I wrote my reports and testified. I joked that Ohio was telling Illinois, New Jersey, and Louisiana, “Hold my beer, let me show ya how corruption is done” rings true to this day.

Thank you, David, for showing us the risks of appointing Husted to the US Senate. Political scientist Leah Cardamore Stokes provides a comprehensive account on how OH legislators assured that their promise our state would reach 25% renewable energy by 2024 would fail (we are at only around 3%). Her book is SHORT CIRCUITING POLICY: INTEREST GROUPS AND THE FIGHT OVER CLEAN ENERGY AND CLIMATE POLICY IN THE AMERICAN STATES.

Thank you, David, for detailing this entire, horrifying trail of corruption in one report. To be continued, of course.

What occurs to me with all this GOP back-slapping and helping one another up the ladder of "success" is that after emerging from scandal after scandal, they all know where the bodies are buried. That means that any one of them who dares to tell the truth may be in jeopardy him or herself. At least politically, although in the era of MAGA, who knows?

That's where the evil lies . . . to corrupt others as yourself. And it does make me wonder if that may be why DeWine seems ready to appoint Husted to one of the top leadership positions in Ohio. They've got the goods on each other.

Wiki says that Ohio is "17th hardest state to vote in" as of a 2020 study. Wiki also details several early mini-scandals that Husted was the focus of.

I think we have a similar cesspool of corruption in Texas with the Gov., Lt. Gov, and Attorney General. The whole MAGA majority here is propped up by a few oligarchs who want to see Project 2025 enacted in this state.
