I just read that Ohio groups are collecting signatures for a state constitutional amendment to have a citizen-led bipartisan redistricting commission draw the state's congressional and legislative maps.

If accurate, this shows a continuing movement to protect and harden Ohio's democracy.

Good morning & Ciao from Italy - just to note that Democrats Abroad is working to make sure that all Ohio citizens living or studying abroad this fall are registered to vote and have requested their overseas ballot! Help us spread the word, if you know any expats or study abroad students, remind them that they can vote! They need to go to www.votefromabroad.org - the entire process can be completed on their smartphone. Thanks! Let's keep the momentum going!

Once again, David, you've got it right. It's our democracy that we're defending. Each of our rights attacked by the GOP is but a symptom of the real problem. Voters are smart enough to recognize that the real problem is the GOP's continuing attacks on democracy. We need to keep framing this as the One Big Thing that ties us all together. All of the other issues can be fixed as long as we have our democracy. Lose our democracy and we lose everything. I am now much more hopeful that we have the will and momentum to make that happen.

One thing I’ve seen from the evangelical base, is that even though some knew abortion was linked to the outcome of this case, they also understood that this would work against the democratic efforts in the state. This aspect and distinction making needs to be explored and well understood.
