Goodness, David, you have your hands full there in Ohio. Pretty sure we’ve had our share of scandals here too but not many people are as knowledgeable about the back room dealings as you seem to be. Or at least not willing to come forward. You deserve some medals I think.

Don't forget the lack of independence of the Ohio inspector general's office. The inspector general (IG) is supposed to investigate wrongdoing in state government. But the IG is appointed by the governor. So how hard can the IG be expected to work at exposing and correcting wrongdoing in the governor's administration?

I saw the answer when working in Ohio's state government for many years. The IG's office did more to ignore and cover up wrongdoing than expose and correct it. And the office had no problem with a state agency punishing an employee for reporting wrongdoing to the IG.

The IG's office is there to make people think a watchdog is overseeing state government. It's a cruel fraud on the public.
