Two days left, and still so much to do! It will come down to who wants it most.
If all the hours of your today and tomorrow aren’t yet covered, I’ve got a couple options for you:
TODAY! — Virtual: Phone Bank to (Erie) Pennsylvania
Largely due to a problem with the mailing of absentee ballots, there are thousands of unreturned absentee ballots in Erie, Pennsylvania.
There is an effort all day today to “chase” these ballots—call the voters whose ballots are outstanding and encourage them to return their ballot in-person today or tomorrow—and not mail it. (They can vote provisionally tomorrow, but that’s the second best option versus taking the ballot to the BOE.) Note: you will get a full script of the voters’ options if you sign up.
If you have time, and are willing to make some calls to these voters, please do so by linking HERE. The technology will make it very easy for your to reach the voters with these outstanding ballots. (You will need a VoteBuilder Account to do this—if you don’t have one, it’s easy to create one).
TODAY! — Wherever You Are
Do a shift at the doors. Or on the phones. To the voters who have not yet voted and who we need to vote tomorrow.
I’ll be knocking doors this afternoon.
I find door knocking to be the most energizing and calming activity because you rediscover the reality lost amid social media and political TV ads: most people are still nice.
If you want to sign up for a shift, go HERE. Or help a candidate near you.
TOMORROW — Help With Ohio’s Issue 1
When one side (and the government itself) have chosen to manipulate ballot language, poll standing will play an outsized role in making sure voters aren’t fooled into voting the opposite was as they intend.
I will be doing three shifts of poll standing on behalf of the “Yes on 1” Campaign here in Ohio.
And they are still looking for others to do the same.
So, if you live in Ohio and have any time on Election Day, please consider doing one or several shifts near you.
To do so, link HERE.
TOMORROW NIGHT — Join our Watch Call!
Election night can be nerve-wracking. We’ve all lived that rollercoaster enough times to know.
But after several Election Watch calls we had last year, my new philosophy is that I’d rather be on a call with friends and fellow activists than pacing around a party or my living room.
If you want to watch the returns in good company (and with the TV in the background) Blue Ohio and associated groups and friends will be doing an election watch call Tuesday night.
Starting at 7:30 p.m.
We’ll be providing real-time analysis as numbers come in, as well as hearing from in-state and national democracy activists such Jess Craven, Robert Hubbell, and Jess Piper. Ohio’s Dr. Amy Acton will also join as a special guest.
Sign up for our call HERE.
However you can — “Do Something!”
