Thanks. Terrific conversation, David and Lisa! I esp. liked the part about the lack of Democratic messaging. I've been screaming about this for so long . . .
Dems need to be out on the street 24 hrs. a day, doing interviews and stories and pushing back at the ridiculous right wing myths that morph from day to day into their opposites. Frankly, I don't believe that the corporate Dems, bless 'em, are up to the job. I don't see say, Adam Schiff doing that "on the street" interview, whatever his inherent political worth. His occasional YouTubes are not nearly enough because they are speaking to a siloed audience.
Anyway, w/ the rare exception, the charisma and connection is absent. David Pepper is one of those rare exceptions...maybe they're out there, but we don't see most of them. The DNC is locked into that "consultant" approach and guarding their war chest.
I'm a person who appreciates a lack of b.s. theatrics and wants pragmatism. But unfortunately, that is not where America is today. We've got plenty of young people who know how to do this thing.
David, I am trying to get an author event for you at Morgenstern Books in Bloomington, IN. We have a Monroe County Democrats' Club Luncheon on Sept 16 at noon. To schedule an author event at the bookstore contact Jenn (jenn@morgensternbooks.com). They do not have an event yet on Sept 16. I have tried talking to them but they only want to communicate with the author, I am assuming. Carolyn Craig (951) 880-8410
