Amid a long road trip with two boys in tow, an email arrived from a producer of the Rachel Maddow Show asking if I’d be willing to provide an update on Issue 1.
Due to numerous delays and a long wait at the border, we were way behind schedule. So the producer and I settled on Toledo as the ideal site. We stopped at Applebee’s for a quick meal and a shave, sprinted through a Target to get a shirt, then, with minutes to spare, pulled into the Toledo studio the show had booked.

But below are some behind the scenes views of two boys prepping in the Green Room before watching dad from only eight feet away—a high-risk maneuver, but they behaved perfectly.
