Thank you to the hundreds of you who’ve already made calls, signed our petition and supported our ad blitz (above is our first ad, launched today), all to oppose the bills attacking democracy and grabbing power that are being rushed forward at the Ohio statehouse.
As a reminder, the Ohio GOP is pushing bills attacking voter rights in numerous ways (HB 294) and voters’ ability to change the state constitution (HJR 6). You can read about them in prior newsletters
Their first hearing was today, at the Government Oversight Committee, but no vote was called. This means we still have time to mount a strong and broad effort to fight these terrible bills.
Their plan is to ram all this through before anyone sees how bad these attacks are. But we are working hard to draw as much attention to stop them as possible. We will continue to send you the names and numbers of those officials to call as these bills move forward.
In the meantime, today we began running a series of digital ads making clear what is happening to as many Ohioans as possible. You can watch the first ad above.
Our goal is to air these ads as broadly as possible digitally. To spur more phone calls. To get more people to make more noise.
