The Perfect Homecoming
Our Cincinnati Area Roll Out
It doesn’t get any better than yesterday.
Our Cincinnati area kickoff.
And it took place three streets over from where I grew up, just a few blocks from Hilltop Elementary, where I walked to school every morning, and right on the street where I used to ride my bike to the local bowling alley (Brentwood Bowl) and swimming pool.
A perfect homecoming.
And it was a family affair too.
My wife Alana and sons Jack and Charlie were there to meet Dr. Acton and cheer on dad.
And my mom, who worked with so many of the activists in this room on one cause after the next (often in her living room right down the street), was there in spirit, cheering us all on from above.
It was slightly past my dad’s bed time, but he too was there in spirit, after promising that we would continue to use that living room for postcards and phone calls.
Even a childhood friend from down the street (part of the large group of us who would play hide and seek and kickball until it was dark outside) came by to say hi.
And boy was this crowd energized to turn Ohio around in 2026.
Every seat was full, as was every seat in an overflow room down the hallway.
There’s an energy building, folks. People know we can and must do better.
Thanks to all who came out for a truly special evening.

Paid by for Acton for Governor

As a retired teacher from Ohio, currently living in Seattle, I am thrilled to hear that Amy Acton has chosen David Pepper as her running mate. Pepper is a long time supporter of Ohio's active and retired teachers. He has written several Substack articles about the mess at STRS, most specifically, Ohio's legislators' recent attempt to remove democratically elected members of the STRS Ohio Retirement Board. I hope that the 500,000 members of STRS Ohio, and their family members, friends, and current and former students, will support Acton and Pepper.
It was a great evening! So excited to meet you and Dr. Acton!
