You are 100% correct and all your reasons are, too. The DNC should tap people in every state where folks are running unopposed for legislative positions and support their campaigns at least minimally. At the least pay for their websites and for rent for headquarters to which volunteers can offer help.

I tend to round-file countless emails from the DNC because they apparently sell their list to candidates in states where I have zippo interest and my "blocked" box gets bigger by the day. Unlike mega donors, I am not made of money. I understand their urge to promote all candidates. But if they created a fund raiser to support those running against unopposed candidates in ultra-long-shot situations and PROMISED not to send my name on to candidates already planning to run on their own, I'd look at it carefully.

Great piece and highly motivating to support Democrats running for the first time in local elections.

My question: How often do such beginner candidates face threats of other forms of intimidation as they begin to campaign?
