Scam schools. Payday lenders. FirstEnergy.
Ohio has been robbed blind by corruption scandal after corruption scandal — and working families keep footing the bill.
FirstEnergy alone cost ratepayers over $2 billion.
Two. Billion. Dollars.
Last week, Amy and I laid out our plan to end it.
Starting with executive orders on Day One.
Here’s the dirty secret: in Ohio, industry too often regulates itself.
The same lobbyists and consultants who get paid by special interests get to sit on the boards that are supposed to police them.
That’s exactly how PUCO let FirstEnergy happen.
Our plan slams that revolving door shut. We’re putting Ohioans first, not billionaires, special interests and corporations.
Never again.
And it doesn’t stop there.
Regulators would sign a real ethics pledge — a 3-year cooling-off period before they can walk out the door and into a cushy job with the industry they just oversaw.
No more cashing in at the expense of the Ohio taxpayer.
Political appointees making big decisions for Ohio?
They’ll face real conflict-of-interest rules — including mandatory public recusal when their own interests are on the line.
No more backroom deals dressed up as public service.
Dark money has been trying to buy our state for years.
Our plan brings it into the light: state contractors and advocacy groups spending on campaigns will have to publicly disclose their donors.
No more hiding behind shell groups.
No more secrets.
Any company bidding on a state contract over $50,000 will have to show their cards: who really owns them, who holds equity, and every dollar they’ve thrown at PACs and politicians.
Ohioans deserve to know exactly who’s profiting off their tax dollars.
We will make the public database of every single state contract searchable and accessible — the winning bidder, the bid window, the amount.
All of it, out in the open.
Because it’s your money. You deserve to see where it goes.
And we’re not stopping there.
We’re standing up an Anti-Corruption Task Force to root out every other scheme that’s been holding this state back — public input, real audits, real fixes, within 100 days.
Ohioans have paid the cost of corruption for too long.
Enough is enough. Time to put working families and the public interest first.

This is one of the reasons I voted for Acton/Pepper in the primary and will be voting for them again on November. We need radical change in Ohio!!!💙💪🏻👍🫶🏻💙
I don’t live in Ohio, but I do know it’s one of our most corrupt states. Good luck. You and Amy would really straighten OH out. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
