I’ve really grown to like the Q&A format for articles and interviews, and one I did last week with Paul Rosenberg of Salon really led to a great conversation, which he captured and Salon published today.
Take a look here if you have a couple minutes to spare.
Great interview! I’m curious about your thoughts on Tim Ryan’s campaign for Senate? Did he not get any national support from the Democratic establishment? I supported his candidacy as much as I could afford, but he was literally begging for $. I’m still upset that JD Vance is our senator and now Sherrod Brown is up for reelection! Help!! You are doing a fantastic job of getting the word out! Thank you 🙏
Thanks for the interview. 3 questions:
1. "The most important solution is, obviously, we have to end gerrymandering." How? Have you written on that?
2. "In a district with no opposition, all the incentives of your time and power are warped. You are serving an extremist agenda, because that's how you avoid a primary." Would open primaries or ranked choice voting change that dynamic?
3. You didn't mention the role of the courts in striking down anti-democratic laws. These are all the laws on voting rights, redistricting and election administration Democracy Docket defeated in court:
