The white rocks did it for me.
With the white rocks in the foreground and the mountains in the background, the Ventura River, cutting through California’s Ojai Valley, presented a breathtaking site.
The minute I saw it, I knew I had to do my best to capture it in a painting.

Thanks to many years of efforts of locals and Mark Capelli the Ventura River was rescued and now the Steelhead can run up the river and spawn as they did historically.
