Earlier today, I shared a post about the SAVE Act, and the threat this extreme bill poses to American democracy, and millions of American voters.
In order to help folks spread the word, I also recorded a new whiteboard that walks through the issues in the simplest terms possible.
I hope it helps:
Take Action!
A number of organizations are working hard to spread the word about the dangers of the SAVE Act.
A group called VoteRiders has created a very simple form you can fill out and send to Congress to register your opposition to this horrible law. You can access it HERE.
You can also call your House and Senate members and let them know directly.
Call your Senator HERE.
Call your House member HERE.
Then please share this email so others you know understand the risk, and also take action.
Day 84 - February 23, 2025
Following a court order lifting a stay, the Trump Administration moved forward on shutting down U.S. AID across the globe.
Thousands of employees are being laid off, and most of the remaining are being placed on administrative leave.
I talked to one U.S. AID employee who described the chaos:
"We left Friday not knowing if it was the last day in our office. There’s still no information other than that at 11:59 a.m. I won’t be able to work at all.”
“All we’ve even able to do for weeks is play out different scenarios.”
Questions remain about how, when and where they will be fired: “The question now is: how will they do that, when will they do that, and in what order?”
