My husband was born and raised in Hudson. At one time it was an R-leaning area, but since Trump, has gone full red. [Recall just a few years ago when a WWII veteran had his mic cut off by a republican operative when he started telling the real history of Memorial Day.] So, if Amy Acton is packing them in at the Hudson library, something's going on! Great news!
The Ohio Republican machinery is very entrenched. Replacing this machinery should be a goal of most Ohioans because the machinery benefits only a select few. Yes, vote for the best opposition ticket option in a long while but be clear eyed about the amount of resistance that will ensue upon a Democratic victory. The Republicans have at their disposal the resources of the high-dollar donor class and a low regard for ethical competition. They will attempt to stymie any real progress. The fight must continue past any electoral victory.
It would be amazing to see Amy Acton lean into the type of campaign events that Kat Abughazaleh is doing in IL - having them at school drives, park cleanups, food banks, etc, so that the candidate and volunteers can do some good for the community while getting the word out. I think this would fit so well with the energy and compassion that Acton is already bringing to the race.
David, I don't know if you read these. IMO policies leaning AWAY from corporate Dems and towards the more working class ones would be a great idea. Senator Sanders is getting a positive response to his town halls. The Democrats HAVE to seize this time and reach out. Farmers are losing farms and feeling disenfranchised.
Brown is by far a better choice, but he's not the best he can be. It's hard to forget his supporting Clinton over Bernie & throwing Nina Turner aside. Forget no, forgive, maybe, if he lives up to his "Progressive" roots. Is he still tied to the DNC Inc. line? Don't know, but we have to have him b\c there's simply no alternative.

David, can out-of-staters get involved in Dem voter registration in Ohio? What suggestions would you have?
Husted learned his craft from Karl Rove. He was on the ground in Cuyahoga county in 2004 presidential race. GWB “won” Ohio.

Excellent piece. It provides hope and a way forward. I have restocked it.
Make Ohio Blue !

This is why we haven't been getting the progress we need. The Repukes are uniting no matter what. Brown represents the workers, always has.
