Milestone! and Subscriber Survey
Thank you to all 25,000 of You!
Pepperspectives hit 25,000 subscribers yesterday!
Thank you!
I’m so honored that you all take the time to read, respond and share the thoughts and perspectives I communicate here—along with the occasional cartoon and painting.
Believe it or not, the reason I started Pepperspectives a few years back was because after Elon Musk bought Twitter, I knew many of my followers (built up over 15 years) would leave, and I worried that pro-democracy voices like mine would be suppressed (both things came true). So I wanted to create an escape hatch for those who still wanted to dialogue with me….and I’m so glad I did. (And only wish I’d done it sooner).
Not only do I enjoy and gain so much from the community we’re creating here, but I’ve found the exercise of writing almost daily to be a great discipline—educating myself continuously, while challenging myself to think through so many of the issues of the day, and how to share them in digestible and easy-to-understand nuggets to a wide audience.
Your Feedback…
BUT….I also think hitting this milestone provides the perfect moment to ask for your feedback. On the content you most enjoy, on how I can deliver it better, and so on.
So if you have a couple minutes, I hope you’ll answer a quick set of questions that will help me shape future content.
And now a rapid-fire set of Yes/No questions:
Thank you for answering these questions.
I also hope you’ll use the comment section below to provide any additional feedback and ideas: what else would make this newsletter more helpful and valuable to you? what would you like to see more of? Less of? Have at it!
Finally, I rarely do this, but as I hit this milestone, I’d love to ask you to consider doing two things:
First, please consider supporting this work by becoming a paid subscriber. You can do so here:
Second, please consider sharing and/or recommending my newsletter to your followers. Most of my new subscribers come from such recommendations, and I want to keep growing as quickly as we’ve been growing of late.
Thank you!
Day 107 — March 19, 2025
The flashpoint over America’s rule of law continued, with a federal judge demanding information to assess if the Trump Administration intentionally violated his court order, and the Administration suggesting that it did not need to provide the requested information. According to the DOJ, the Court’s questions marked “continued intrusions into the prerogatives of the Executive Branch.”
The Trumpian logic here is that not only should federal courts not weigh in on actions taken in pursuit of the Alien Enemies Act, but the court can’t even investigate if its own court order was intentionally violated.
The implications of this case are clearly enormous: Thanks to this Supreme Court, the president is already immune for actions he takes in office. Here, Trump is seeking to evade court review for actions he takes while in office, including defying federal court orders.

As an Ohioan, I appreciate getting a closer look at what's taking place in the state and receiving advice on actions to take to advocate accordingly.
I think it is important that we fight on every hill every day. We can no longer choose our battles, otherwise there will be no hills left. DOGE, immigration, the attacks on rule of law etc need to be defended LOUDLY every day.
