Thank you, David, for this legal breakdown. I was particularly horrified this morning to read in my local paper that the VA Secretary sent a department-wide memo asking employees to (in my words) “rat out” their colleagues for “anti-Christian discrimination”. Wasn’t that Hitler’s idea?

Excellent reporting! My wife and I join a protest in Walnut Creek in northern CA. every Saturday that we can. It's important that everyone who wants to resist the Trump dictatorship make their voice known. This is a crisis.

Thank you for breaking this down. I couldn't get past point #2 under 'the basics.' Why isn't this raising alarm bells in every corner of our institutions across the country? The U.S. government 'micro-managing' private institutions in such a demanding manner should concern everyone. If Harvard complied, what's to stop the next TRUMP from making similar demands in boardrooms nationwide? WAKE UP, AMERICA!

Thank you for this excellent online of what will be certainly be a landmark case. It has helped me understand that Harvard has a very good chance to "knock Trump out in the first round?"

Question, which may sound like a conspiracy theory but in this day and age need be asked —

Could the two lawyers you have pointed out not be planted there to do the fotus bidding in the end, to skew the cases in some way?

I think it’s a fair question. Perhaps it makes a settlement discussion easier at some point. But the ferocity of the brief does not feel like plants.
