Good synopsis! From a former public school teacher.
The basics of organizing need to be put on a one sheet, or quarter sheet. And maps need to be added to all candidate promos to include towns and counties in districts. Young people are simply going to ignore most things that do not connect the candidate to their house... there are too many step involved: dem ads spend tons and just say FL 01... big no no in the sales world: if you want to engage a customer, first provide them with the basic info they need to engage... add the counties covered by every district every time. Add the map to the back with street info and boundaries.. show the precinct on the map or whatever can be done to make it granular for the majority who need to be told whether this applies to them and how... what is anprecinct captain? Nobody knows that term aside from people already in the bag... its community its neighborhood, its your block, its where you "stay" in many areas, not where you "live" even though they live there... there is also a need for candidates to pin all of their speeches to print and then to run it in a lower reading level as well or short point version as half of the pool of Dem voters read at a 6th grade level in many many areas. Yes we need candidates working for every precinct... but the DNC is not currently eauipped to meet a lot of urban and rural voters where they are. They are working their butts off and the DNC needs to make it much easier for everyone to contribute....
we also need to address felony voting issues... in red state south where a high percentage of male voters have minor felonies that remove their voting rights and legislators move every year to create more and more classes of felonies... a huge Peoples committee needs to build an easy portal for families to help their loved one vote from jail or prison, create no cash bail zones for things like hot checks or overdue rents.... or expunge therinrecord, or engage by working to help others not lose their voting rights by stupid adolescent decisions...
and I think it is time to formally acknowledge wings of the democrat party to bring more under the umbrella... we need a Progressive committee and a mainstream committee and a fiscally conservative but Dem committee and a personal liberties committee...and a save our public lands, and a protect the right to control your body committee, and an innocent until proven guilty workingngroup and peoples donations could alignnwith their assignment to a working group or advisory group.. etc under this type of organization, we can capture the current energy of all the folks reading these things all the time and saying give me three things to do today and recognize the work I am doing,,.
On a second topic. I think you are in San Francisco. A huge responsibility for Silicon Valley? Or is that an entirely different community? America thinks they are the same.
The hypocrisy of elected representative still owning stocks is a 5 percent gain if we move to prevent any Dem from buying or selling stock on their insider information. Full stop. This is more than elitism and turns off a LOT of you g folks and regular folks.
And Second... San Francisco is the only place that a successful movement to prevent wealth accumulation beyond destructive levels is possible. It is critical that the Plutocrats and dark Bois be stopped and the live there... the first an biggest movement needs to be a move towards transparency of the good guys and avengers like Mark Cuban is doing, and Oprah used to do,. Encouraging other families to cap their weslth, stop looking at traditional accounting tax releif schemes and openly start distributing their money like the Gates' and Ms Bezos have done. It needs to be open successful and shaming to the dark side who are hoovering up opportunities from everyone and now following some dark elon leader who is literally entitled to steal it away. San Francisco has lead in ways before that may not have split communities, but the people there in SF are responsible for the rise of DOGE and the continued legitimacy of peter theil, and the other Siths. San Francisco needs to be the impetus of the One Billion limit or else the whales there will be able to sell their bitcoin stash by continuing the current destruction of our dollar, the world monetary system, our brand value, our Goodwill and other intanglibles, our vested interests, our voices who actually want tax dollars to feed starving children in Africa, destroying our beautiful nation we have all built together for over 250 years. Sign the San Fran Billionaires who know how much money is enough UP!
The People, the protectors of Democracy, are out and about. What "people," out where, about what--and why? First, millions said "Hand Off"to Trump/Musk et al, then on the 19th via 50501" (50 protests, 5o states, 1 Movement + Indivivable) millions more protested the mess in WDC. Also on the 19th we celebrated the "the shot heard around the world at Lexington and Concord, starting the Revolution and our country. On the 22nd protectors of the environment cleaned up a different kind of mess on Earth Day.
As important as the participants in environmental mess cleanup and American history are, this post is dedicated to the named and unnamed protestors fighting the Trump/Musk Washington, DC, tyrannical mess. Or as Susan Grymes calls it: "Protectors" of democracy, and so shall I in this post.
Who are the Protectors of democracy on April 5, 19th, May 1st--or all the everydays in between and into the future?? We will never know the names of each individual marcher, sign holder (or just standing together in solidarity). But we do know by name some people, advocacy groups, judges and law firms, and other entities who have not been cowed, and have fought back publicly--sometimes under threat of death.. Some, such as Sen. Cory Booker, with his 25 hour righteous speech on ethics, morality, and American democracy, have become an inspiration. Here then, in no particular order of noteworthy (except the first three), are the names of many of the army of protectors of democracy--and remember Courage is Contagious:

John Russell may be right. Many organizations to raise money that are not working together, that needs to change. It seems a shame to let this Anti Oligarch tour not benefit every candidate down to the school board. They have identified who to fight, billionaires not immigrants. Perhaps this can be leveraged and targeted at every level?
