“Weaponized”

Quick comment from David: collaboration brings so many benefits and insights.

And this cartoon from Kevin did that for me the instant I saw it.

Not only has it been disturbing to witness Trump and his allies attack the rule of law because, for the first time in life, he faces some level of accountability for violating it. (No one I’ve seen is challenging the facts…just the imposition of accountability).

But, as Kevin perfectly captures, the outrage comes at the same time that truly disturbing forays by the extreme, anti-democracy right continue to occur, and are, overall, being normalized.

Up (accountability for basic crimes) is becoming down (attacked by the far right as unjust), and down (an outright insurrection, calls for violence, a tainted Court, anti-democratic policies) is becoming up (accepted as normal, or overlooked).

It’s enough to make your head spin, which is why Kevin’s cartoon is such a perfect, needed reminder of how distorted things can get.
