From Kevin:
“After the Senate failed to convict Donald Trump during his second impeachment, this time for inciting the January 6 insurrection, U.S. Senator Susan Collins (Maine), a noted moderate Republican, said that the former president had ‘learned his lesson.’
It’s a shame establishment Republicans have not learned their own lesson.
Ever since Inmate No. P01135809 rode down a golden escalator in 2015, moderate and other non-MAGA Republicans have faced a conundrum. Stay quiet about — and thereby give tacit support to — TFG and his authoritarian views, hoping he’ll either grow up or go away. Or be reasonable, sane individuals, standing up for the American people and democracy while speaking out against a wannabe dictator.
Guess which route most Republicans chose, and will probably choose again.
Trump did learn his lesson: he can do whatever the hell he wants, and barely anyone in the Republican Party will try to stop him."
Me: Look at every word and detail in the cartoon above. It captures the look-the-other-way strategy of the GOP—which as the number of panels makes clear, has played out for years on end—as well as any content I’ve seen.

NOTE: Last week’s cartoon really struck a chord with folks. Instantly:
