Big News! Grassroots Support Setting Records
Thank You to the 50,000+ Who Gave in 2025
88 counties.
More than 100,000 contributions.
Average grassroots donation of $28.
$5.3 million….record for a Democratic candidate (non-incumbent) for Governor in Ohio.
Let’s go!
And thank you to all who gave.
That’s a quick summary of the great news we announced today: our campaign has raised more than $5.3 million in 2025 – more money at this point in the calendar than any Democratic challenger for governor in the state’s history.
This period alone, the campaign raised almost $4 million, tripling the fundraising pace from the prior six-month period. With more than $3 million cash on hand, the campaign heads into 2026 with historic grassroots support, clear momentum and on-the-ground enthusiasm.
More than 96% of contributions were $100 or less, with an average grassroots donation of just $28. 70% of donations came from Ohio residents, showcasing the clear grassroots enthusiasm and momentum behind Amy’s campaign.
Our campaign has raised more than double at this point in the campaign cycle than the 2018 Governor race, when Richard Cordray set the record for Democratic gubernatorial fundraising in the state.
Here’s a story that ran today:
Dr. Amy Acton’s campaign fundraising picked up significantly in the second half of last year as she emerged as the presumptive Democratic nominee for governor in the 2026 election, according to numbers she will report to the state later today.
Acton raised nearly $4 million from July 29 through Dec. 31, almost triple the amount she raised during the first half of 2025, according to figures her campaign shared first exclusively with Signal.
Including the new numbers, Acton has raised more than $5.3 million total and has about $3 million in cash heading into 2026. That’s a record-setting amount compared to recent Democratic gubernatorial candidates.
Still, Acton’s stronger fundraising is a sign that Democratic donors view her campaign as worth investing in – which hasn’t always been the case in Ohio, where Republicans increasingly have dominated statewide elections.
To put today’s fundraising numbers into context, the 2018 Ohio campaign for governor – the last time the race was hotly contested – saw DeWine raise $28 million and Democrat Richard Cordray raise $17 million. DeWine won by nearly 4 percentage points.
OK. That’s enough celebrating. Because we are battling a billionaire who also is raising a lot of money.
So please keep doing what you can to help here.
And keep spreading the word so others help too.
Have a great weekend!
