These and other items might feel disparate. Disconnected.

But once you see that the front line in the attack on democracy are unaccountable, extremist statehouses, you see how all of these things fit together.

What’s the commonality? ALL are key strategies and tactics to eliminate any accountability that might otherwise reign in these statehouses.

Accountability due to the people themselves, due to federal or state law, or from other state officials, all threaten to undercut the right-wing thrust of these gerrymandered statehouses. So there’s a wide-ranging and ongoing effort to neutralize all those potential threats as they emerge. And too often, it plays out below the radar, separate from the election cycle.
